We came here to watch World Cup on a whim after seeing the sign on the side of the road. What ensued was the discovery of a beautiful spot with friendly service and great food. The view was wonderful and the energy was alive. Well, we didn’t see the rooms in person. The pool is lovely and we will return. Villas En el Bosque is one of a kind in the area of Ojochal/Uvita. It is surrounded by lush jungle. The dining room at the restaurant is set in the canopy with a view of the Pacific Ocean!! Monkey, sloth and beautiful bird visitors are regular occurrences!! If you’re looking for a jungle getaway, Villas en el Bosque is the place to go. Had a wonderful, impromptu overnight stay here last night. We had planned to only have dinner, but the Costa Rican weather had other ideas, and as the storm really got going a rather large tree came down and completely blocked the driveway! No damage or injuries suffered and it meant we got to share a fantastic evening with our ever convivial hosts, Nick and Vanessa (as well as their family). Much laughter and rum later we headed to our perfectly comfortable bed and awoke to the sights and sounds of the jungle we were surrounded by. After an excellent breakfast, we were delighted by the sight of the gardener wielding his chainsaw, ready to make short work of the pesky tree that had led to this most enjoyable of evenings. Although we had not intended to stay here we are certainly glad we did and it reminded us to always look for the good in your situation rather than getting frustrated by the things you have no control over. I came here for breakfast and everything about my experience was terrific! Food was delicious and the view…breathtaking. It’s like being in a treehouse in the jungle. I stayed for a bit after I ate, and just watched the beautiful scenery around me.

Fui al restaurante con mi familia. Todo muy rico, la vista inmejorable y la atención muy amable y amena. Nos dejaron entrar hasta con nuestra perrita. Los dueños son franceses pero hablan español, y los precios son razonables, en especial en relación a la calidad y la zona. Nos dijeron que muchos ticos no se arriman porque creen que la comida va a ser rara o cara: para nada. Comimos todos bien, nos gustó todo, y todos teníamos necesidades y gustos diferentes.
